or conflicts.

CONFLICT, DISTANCE,
AND DISCONNECTION
DON’T HAVE TO
DEFINE WHAT’S NEXT.

If you’d like to talk through what’s happening, we can start with a conversation.

Relationships don’t usually break down all at once.

More often, couples find themselves having the same conversations over and over—trying to resolve something that never quite shifts. This is where couples therapy begins to shift from trying to fix conversations to understanding the patterns underneath them.

You may notice tension building more quickly, communication breaking down, or a growing sense of distance.

At times, it can feel like you’re no longer on the same side.

These experiences are often treated as communication problems.

But more often, they reflect patterns that have taken shape over time, ways of relating that repeat, even when both people want something different.

Couples therapy becomes a space to slow things down and understand what’s happening underneath the conflict. This is where couples therapy begins to shift from trying to fix conversations to understanding the patterns underneath them.

Not just what is being said—but how each person is experiencing the relationship, and how those experiences interact.

Over time, this work can help you:

  • move out of repetitive cycles

  • communicate more clearly and directly

  • rebuild trust and connection

  • feel more aligned in how you move forward

This work focuses on both partners, and on the relationship itself.

This work is informed by attachment-based approaches and incorporates elements of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), particularly in understanding how emotional patterns and unmet needs shape relationship dynamics. Sessions provide a structured space to work through conflict, clarify what’s happening between you, and begin to shift the patterns that keep you stuck.

We offer couples therapy in Pleasanton, Danville, Walnut Creek, and surrounding areas, with both in-person and online sessions available. Feel free to fill out this form and I’ll get back to you within a few hours.
